Profile

Bev Ashby truly believes in the value executive coaching brings to both an organisation and to individuals, and has seen this directly through her practice with executives.

She works with senior executives who have a desire to be focussed, self-reliant and effective business leaders.

Using her wealth of experience as a HR Director along with her coaching talents, Bev helps organisations and individuals be successful in their careers.

Supportive But Challenging Coaching

Bev brings integrity, sincerity and openness to her coaching and encourages others to be authentic in their relationships.

She creates an environment where individuals feel confident to share the challenges they are facing.

Bev’s style is supportive but challenging and thought-provoking, and this helps individuals explore personal blind spots, develop confidence and work on areas that may be holding them back.

Executive Coaching & Mentoring

Bev is skilled at working with leaders to establish a growth mindset, ensuring focus, resilience and confidence by building personal strategies for success.

Our Approach

A good coach and client relationship is paramount to a successful outcome. So, Bev firstly holds a chemistry session with each client to start to understand what has brought them to coaching in order that they can get to know her and her coaching style.

If an organisation is sponsoring an individual, Bev will meet both parties together to fully understand their goals to make sure the outcome is successful for all.

Most clients benefit from a monthly two-hour session with Bev, over a period of six months.

Bev uses a number of personal profiling tools and techniques including 360-degree feedback to help the client gain greater insight into areas for development.

Mediation

What is mediation?

Mediation is a confidential, voluntary and an informal process that involves two or more parties in dispute and an impartial mediator.

The goal of mediation is for the parties to speak with each other in an open and honest manner to try to reach a resolution that is acceptable to all involved.

The mediator will use techniques to facilitate a conversation between the parties in a safe and constructive environment. The mediator will not tell the parties what to do. Any agreement that is reached is determined solely by those involved.

Our Approach

Bev is a qualified mediator and has significant experience of managing workplace conflict and employee relations at all levels.

She has had great success with mediation as it is non-adversarial and doesn’t apportion blame. She works with the parties to facilitate a constructive dialogue between them so they can gain clarity about each other’s perspectives and points of view.

This means they can reach a resolution that is mutually acceptable.

“The aim is to facilitate a constructive dialogue between the parties to enable them to gain clarity about each other’s perspectives and points of view.”

The Mediation Process

A joint mediation meeting is held and concluded in one day. This means those involved are not tied up in long investigations.

No preparation for the mediation is required other than the provision of a confidential room for the meeting.

Mediation is a flexible process and either of the parties or the mediator can ask for a break at any time during the day.

Most mediations result in a signed agreement or action plan. Anything that goes into the agreement has to be agreed by both parties.

Exceptional Outplacement

What is outplacement?

Outplacement is the assistance organisations can offer employees who are going through transitions in their careers, usually due to redundancy.

Support may be practical or emotional and is designed to help individuals consider their options and take the best course of action.

It also allows organisations to fully support those going through change whilst focussing on day-to-day operations.

Our Approach

Every business is different and every business change programme has its own unique challenges and requirements, so we work with our clients to discover their specific needs.

At an initial meeting we will listen to your needs, discuss with you the range of support that we can provide and build a bespoke programme for your business, being careful to work within your budget and timescales.

We approach outplacement from a coaching perspective, believing that at times of change people need to reconnect to the things that are important to them and be supported to decide upon and then plan the next chapter in their life.

Once you have agreed the details of the programme, we will provide you with a detailed proposal, which will include costs, delivery plan and information about the consultants who have been allocated to work with you.

Why exceptional outplacement matters

In any business, building good employee relationships is vital to success however; a good ending is just as important as a good beginning. Just like a good book, you don’t want be let down and disappointed by a poor ending - the same is true about an employee relationship.

Exceptional outplacement is all about doing the right thing.

Business change is inevitable and employees are likely to have experienced this at some stage in their careers, but the key to doing it successfully is to handle it sensitively.

By balancing the needs of both the business and the individuals, you can help those transitioning to leave with a positive memory of their role and of the support provided by the business as they move into their next role or chapter of life.

Investing in outplacement support can therefore help protect business reputation and brand as it reduces the risk that leavers will resort to legal action and sends a positive message to those who remain in employment.

“Investing in outplacement support can help you protect your business reputation and brand.”

Personal Profiling & Feedback

We offer a number of personal profiling tools and techniques:

Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)

This tool is in the form of a questionnaire and aids understanding about how work styles differ and how that affects how we interact.

The resulting report and accompanying coaching session help the individual to understand themselves, their motivations, their natural strengths and potential areas for growth.

It also builds appreciation and understanding of people who differ, providing great insight for leaders.

Saville Consulting Wave

The Saville Consulting Wave questionnaire explores 36 key characteristics of performance at work.

The resulting report and accompanying coaching session give the individual insight into their specific areas of strength, motivation and potential.

This supports professionals in developing options for their future and in making career decisions.

FACET 5

Facet5 is a measure of personality and can be applied to individuals, teams and organisations to help them realise their full potential.

Designed by psychologists for use by management, Facet5 helps people at all levels understand behaviour and, more importantly, what can be achieved.

The resulting report is a simple model and common language to explain how people differ in their behaviour, motivation and attitudes.

SDI – Strength Deployment Inventory (R)

Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI) is a self-assessment tool that helps people understand what gives them a sense of self-worth and what’s important to them when relating with others.

It is an instrument of self-discovery and is widely used to improve the quality of relationships at work by exploring awareness and understanding.

The tool provides a useful visual result of an individual motivational value system and can be used effectively in individual coaching or team development sessions.

The Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQ-i)

The Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQ-i) examines emotional intelligence skills with leadership and is particularly helpful tool for executive coaching.

The resulting report provides a snapshot of how an individual’s emotional intelligence compares to that of other leaders and provides an insight into leadership strengths and potential areas for development.

360 - Feedback

360-degree feedback can help during coaching to understand a number of factors, including how the person is perceived by others.

This tool is developed in line with the client’s goals for coaching; it is totally bespoke.

OPQ32

OPQ32 provides a clear framework for understanding the impact of personality on job performance.

It is internationally recognised for its accuracy of assessment. More than 90 independent validation studies have been conducted on the OPQ over a period of 25 years, across 20 countries and 40 industries, providing concrete evidence of its power to predict performance in the workplace.

OPQ32n is particularly appropriate for development, but can also be used for selection, training and coaching.
